When packing use appropriate packing boxes i.e. tea chest, wine and book cartons.
If you over pack a box you risk damaging its contents.
Stuff socks, tea towels, pillow cases and other small fabric items in holes and crevices in boxes.
Keep all screws, bolts and other loose items in bags, taped to underside of furniture.
Pot plants – prune and do not water prior to packing.
Ensure children and pets are safe and out of harm’s way.
Remove all trip hazards from floor.
Consume your supplies of frozen and perishable items.
If box contains breakable items clearly mark fragile.
If chest of drawers/tall boys aren’t too heavy leave clothes inside and securely tape drawers shut.
Disconnect all electrical items.
Where possible dismantle beds as this is time consuming and will save on the cost of the removal.
Please insure all boxes are closed properly so tops are flat and securely sealed.
Bundle loose items such as bed slats, garden tools or shelving together with tape or string.
Do a final walk through with the removal team.
